Past Projects
Old hood has been sold.
Stock hood springs had to be removed by heating
them with a torch.
The fibreglass hood uses lightweight springs, since the
hood is much lighter than a stock one.
Hood on sawhorses. You can't
see them, but cut-lines
are drawn out to saw out
hole for scoop.
Using a jigsaw, I cut out the
hole in the hood to make the
pro scoop fully functional.
Fibreglass resin was brushed
on the hood and the lip of the
pro scoop.
The scoop was carefully set
down on the hood and aligned
with the outline that i
previously marked. Once it
dries and bonds, I'll be able
to flip it over and secure the
scoop to the hood permanently.
Drilling holes for the pop
rivets.
Four pop rivets on each side.
Then two bolts at the front
and two at the rear to totally
secure the scoop.
A little bondo to fill in the
space between the hood and
the scoop's inside lip and it's
ready to be primered.
Hood painted. Now back on
the car and get it ready for
striping.
I have the hood masked and
prepped for painting on the
stripes.
Except for a couple of minor "touch-ups", this
hood is all done!
